Graduate Application Requirements in the SOE
We’re looking forward to receiving your application!
Applicants for our nationally recognized graduate programs will submit their applications through the Baylor University Graduate School’s GoGrad online application. The specific application materials, however, may vary from program to program, so be sure to check the program webpage for the specificSOE program webpage.
Baylor’s graduate faculty take a holistic approach to admissions by accounting for a variety of criteria including past academic experience, professional experience, references, and more. We strongly encourage applicants from a wide range of backgrounds and are committed to continuing our diverse and inclusive programs.
Typical Application Requirements:
While specific application materials vary slightly from program to program, applicants should expect to submit the following:
- Transcripts of all past academic work, reflecting a 3.0 or higher past GPA.
- A current résumé or curriculum vitae
- Contact information for references who will submit a letter of recommendation. We recommend that you choose references who are familiar with your professional and academic experience and achievements.
- A personal statement or letter of intent describing your purpose for pursuing a particular degree. Be sure to review any program-specific requirements.
In addition to these standard application requirements, some programs additionally require the following:
- Graduate Record Examination (GRE) – Some, but not all, programs require the GRE. Please reference specific department and program pages for information or make an inquiry using the contact information listed there.
- Testing and Certification - Graduate degrees in educational leadership may require certain certifications or professional educational experience. The MAT (Master of Arts in Teaching), a program offering initial teacher certification, requires and administers certain testing prior to admission.
- TOEFL: International students may be required to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language scores. Please review program pages for individual program requirements. You may also learn more about Baylor University requirements for English Proficiency Examination.
