The Department of Curriculum & Instruction prepares professional educators for transformative leadership in research-based teaching practice and student learning. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishing and maintaining an active research agenda
Seeking and securing grant funding to support programmatic research and outreach activities
Teaching graduate and undergraduate courses
Recruiting and mentoring graduate students
Engaging in service to the profession and to the department, school, and university

SALARY AND BEGINNING DATE:

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. The anticipated date of appointment is August 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Consistent with Baylor’s mission to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals, the qualifications for the position include:

Doctorate in English Education, Literacy Studies, or a closely related field.
Record of scholarship commensurate with experience, and evidence of potential for establishing and sustaining a strong research agenda that contributes to the improvement of equity and excellence in secondary English/literacy education.
Evidence of, or strong potential for securing competitive extramural funding to support a programmatic research agenda
Experience teaching English Language Arts in grades 6-12 (three or more years preferred)
Evidence of, or strong potential for, excellence in university-level teaching
Experience working with preservice or practicing teachers to support inclusive instruction in diverse school communities.
A history of faith community engagement in the Christian or Jewish tradition.
