ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT:

The Department of Curriculum & Instruction prepares professional educators for transformative leadership in research-based teaching practice and student learning. Graduates shape the future through research and practice, addressing complex issues with innovation and creativity. The Department of Curriculum & Instruction is home to Baylor’s largest undergraduate teacher education program and hosts robust graduate offerings at the master’s and doctoral levels. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach elementary undergraduate courses (e.g., Introduction to Education, Children’s Literature, Early Literacy, Methods Courses).
Provide field-based supervision.
Serve as field supervior of clinical teachers & residents (preservice teachers).
Engaging in service to the profession and to the department, school, and university.

SALARY AND BEGINNING DATE:

The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and professional experience. The anticipated date of appointment is August 1, 2025.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Consistent with Baylor’s mission to be a world-class institution dedicated to Christian principles and ideals, the qualifications for the position include:

Master’s or Doctoral degree in elementary education or a closely related field.
Established experience teaching in public or private (PK-6) classrooms.
Expertise in evidence-based approaches for teaching elementary students [WTL1]
Experience in field-based settings and/or professional development schools to support inclusive instruction in diverse school communities.
Evidence of, or strong potential for, excellence in teaching at the university level.
