ABOUT THE PROGRAM:
The online EdD-LOC program was named the Carnegie Project for the Education Doctorate (CPED) Program of the Year in 2022 and has been ranked fourth nationally by Fortune Magazine. This doctoral program serves a talented and diverse population of graduate students who represent a range of races, ethnicities, ages, and professions. The program admits a new cohort of students three times per calendar year, and students complete an established sequence of courses designed for working professionals, consisting of two courses per trimester with a typical graduation timeline of 36 months. Students also complete a research-intensive dissertation focused on a problem of practice as part of their program of study. Courses are delivered online and are designed to provide students a strong sense of community with maximum collaboration opportunities. Live sessions are offered in the evenings to accommodate the working professional; each course includes an asynchronous component and a live class session for 1.5 hours each week. EdD-LOC faculty take part in hosting cohorts of students for on-campus immersion experiences in Waco. This doctoral program has successfully graduated more than 400 students.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate in education, organizational change, or related discipline.
- Experience serving on dissertation committees.
- Expertise in psychology of learning, online instructional design, organizational innovation, or research methods.
- Evidence of excellence in teaching online at the university level.
Ability to be on the Waco campus once per trimester for on-campus events.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Successful experience working with graduate students and mentoring their research.
- Experience chairing student dissertation committees.
- Record of published research in peer-reviewed outlets.
- Experience teaching courses focused on learning and instructional design, technology, innovation, artificial intelligence and/or research methods courses.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Online Learning faculty who mentor doctoral students are typically assigned a 3-3-3 teaching/student mentorship load in a trimester program and may serve as the lead instructor or section instructor for one or more courses. Responsibilities include leading weekly synchronous course sessions and preparing materials for the asynchronous portion of courses. Faculty serve as the dissertation advisor for EdD-LOC students who develop and complete a research dissertation focused on a problem-of-practice. EdD-LOC faculty also take part in hosting cohorts of students for on-campus immersion experiences in Waco and participate in admission reviews and decisions. Program faculty are committed to maintaining high expectations for students while providing the necessary support to ensure their success. The budgeted salary range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $ 95,000.00 - $ 115,000.00.
This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certification, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs.
The anticipated date of appointment is April 29, 2025.
