As part of their senior-year experience at Baylor, students spend three weeks teaching in the Camp Hill area of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. Each Baylor student will teach in a specific classroom for their time in Brisbane, learning the classroom and school culture.
The program is embedded within the senior-year clinical teaching experience and does not affect clinical hours that seniors need for certification in the state of Texas.
Baylor students assist with classroom instruction, present lessons on American culture, and conduct research in the school. The Thanksgiving feast is always a favorite for the Baylor students and Aussies alike.
Along with their teaching experience, the students spend weekends and the fourth week traveling. The Great Barrier Reef, Sidney, and New Zealand are popular destinations.
Cost: approximately $4000
(Additional expenses for student independent travel and purchases will apply.)
