Spring Break
Through this service program of Baylor Missions, students are based in San Jose, Costa Rica, working with the students at El Colegio Técnico in Heredia. Students focus on helping Costa Rica students with English language skills and have helped high schoolers by teaching and practicing conversations and short stories and advising on résumé writing. Baylor students may also enjoy recreation, such as soccer, with the classes. Some Baylor students have taken this trip more than one year during their time at Baylor.
The work in local schools is an ideal and enriching experience for education majors, but the trip is open to all Baylor students. This service opportunity and educational field experience will help all students to gain a global perspective on education and language learning.
Day trips allow students to explore the beauty of Costa Rica, such as volcanos and waterfalls, and try a bit of adventure hiking, as well as visit coffee and chocolate production centers.
