Jenifer Johnson, Ed.D.
Director of Enrollment & Student Success
Dr. Jenifer Johnson serves as the direct contact for prospective undergraduate students (incoming freshmen and transfers) for the School of Education. Her job duties include leading and organizing recruitment efforts such as the School of Education Visit Experience and building relationships with high school counselors, teachers, alumni and prospective students.
Dr. Johnson also supports the successful transition of new School of Education students during their first year at Baylor University by overseeing and coordinating the first-year experience program. In this program, she targets the direct needs of School of Education first year students by supporting their academic and career goals through creating experiences that enhance student learning and personal growth.
Prior to joining the School of Education, Dr. Johnson served 12 years in K-12 education in roles spanning instructional to administration. She started as a middle school language arts teacher, then became a language arts and reading content instructional specialist, and lastly served as a human resources recruiter. Also, she taught developmental English as an adjunct professor, which was her introduction to working in higher education.
Dr. Johnson is an alumna of Prairie View A&M University with a master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership from Sam Houston State University.
