Suzanne Nesmith, Ph.D.
Associate Dean for Undergraduate Education
Dr. Suzanne Nesmith is the associate dean of undergraduate education. She oversees all programs, projects and administrative personnel associated with undergraduate education in the School of Education. Dr. Nesmith leads the SOE’s Student Support and Services Group, where she works directly with the individuals involved in recruitment, admissions, scholarship awards, advising, clinical field experiences, teacher certification, education technology and learning resources.
Dr. Nesmith stays connected with undergraduate students through teaching courses in comparative education, teaching science in elementary school, and special topics in social innovation, and by sharing her passion for education through her teaching experiences within the educator preparation program.
Dr. Nesmith has been with the SOE since 2009 and has served as associate dean since 2016. Prior to coming to Baylor University, she worked as an educator and advisor at Wayland Baptist University, and she also served students for 16 years as an elementary and middle school teacher. Dr. Nesmith earned a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction, a M.Ed. in educational administration, and a B.S. in curriculum and instruction. She holds both her teacher and principal certifications.
